A hearing was held in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday morning for the man indicted for attempted murder of two Hopkinsville police officers on New Year’s Day.
Twenty-five-year-old Anthony Dyson is charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count of first-degree wanton endangerment.
Two Hopkinsville police officers were responding to a report of shots fired in the 200 block of East 13th Street just after midnight on New Year’s Day and found a man holding a gun standing on the front porch of a home.
Dyson is accused of being that man who allegedly took off running and fired two shots—with one going through a civilian vehicle and striking the rear of the occupied unmarked HPD cruiser.
Defense attorney Marc Wells waived arraignment and entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.
Judge John Atkins scheduled the next pre-trial conference for April 21.
