Todd County Judge-Executive Todd Mansfield and Elkton Mayor Arthur Green have filed a joint declaration of local state of emergency after major flooding there Sunday.
Judge Mansfield says the official declaration opens the door to possible federal aid to the county.
Over two-dozen cities and counties have filed local emergencies and that could help communities in Kentucky receive federal aid.
Todd County Emergency Management Director Daniel Smith says four businesses and one home in the North Main-Water Street area took on water Sunday and 17 total structures had some impact from flooding.
