Kentucky vaccine supply increasing as cases go down

Governor Andy Beshear reported the lowest number of new cases of COVID-19 for a Tuesday in four weeks and he’s also pursuing federal relief for Kentuckians impacted by major flash flooding Sunday.

The governor noted 1,080 new cases and 19 additional deaths and the commonwealth’s positivity rate fell again to 4.76 percent—the lowest since October 18.

Nearly 712,000 Kentuckians have received at least their first dose of the COVID vaccine and Governor Beshear says the supply is increasing soon.

Christian County is still orange on the COVID incidence rate map, but Todd has joined Trigg as yellow.

He flew over flood damage and toured some of the most heavily impacted areas in Calloway County Tuesday morning and says state government is working to get aid from FEMA as quickly as possible for counties that are in the disaster zone.

Tennessee reported 644 new coronavirus cases and 15 additional deaths and hospitalizations increased by 12 to 884 with a positivity rate of 5.93 percent.
