In the Grapefruit League: The St. Louis Cardinals earned a 4-4 tie against the Washington Nationals in their opener. Nolan Arenado went 0-for-2 in his debut in a Cards uniform. St. Louis starter Jack Flaherty struggled, giving up three-earned runs on four hits in one inning. The Redbirds are off today before visiting the Miami Marlins tomorrow.
The Atlanta Braves opened spring with a 9-7, seven inning loss to the Tampa Bay Rays. Atlanta meets the Boston Red Sox today in Fort Myers.
