Gov. Beshear declares state of emergency for flash flooding

Governor Andy Beshear declared a state of emergency in Kentucky Sunday due to flooding across the commonwealth.

He says, “By declaring a state of emergency, we can mobilize the state resources needed to support the cities and counties affected by this heavy rainfall. We are acting swiftly to ensure the safety and security of Kentucky families and to get the needed help to our communities.”

The National Guard was deployed to areas where they were needed to assist with flooding emergencies.
