You can expect a calm week of average early March weather following two weeks of ice, snow and heavy rain.
In the weekly conference call with the National Weather Service in Paducah Monday, Warning Coordination Meteorologist Rick Shanklin said there is only a slight chance of rain Tuesday.
Hydrologist Mary Lamm went over the weekend flooding and said the area was primed for flooding with ground saturated from recent snows.
Lamm says flooding could continue to be a concern going into the spring, with warmer and wetter than average weather expected.
Shanklin reminded that this is Severe Weather Awareness Week in Kentucky, saying the National Weather Service will be placing information on its social media outlets and the statewide tornado drill is set for 9:07 a.m. Wednesday when the EAS will be activated on WHOP and local tornado sirens will be tested.
