A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to restrict westbound traffic to one lane on the Interstate 24 near the 30 mile marker starting Tuesday.
A news release says the restriction is to allow navigation lights on the Tennessee River Bridge to be replaced. All westbound traffic will move to the left-hand or passing lane in this work zone.
The contractor expects the westbound lighting and electrical work to take about two days to complete. The work zone is then expected to move to the eastbound lanes on Thursday and Friday, weather permitting.
This work zone lane restriction will be taken down at night.
Motorists are urged to slow down and use appropriate caution in the work zone.
