Fort Campbell will soon be home to new housing facilities, with a ground breaking to be held next week to celebrate the near $87.4 million project.
According to a post from Fort Campbell Garrison Commander Colonel Jeremy Bell, the development project will focus on junior enlisted housing and the improvements will construct 144 new three- and four-bedroom homes, majorly renovate 170 homes, and demolish 250 homes over the next five years. This investment will provide the Fort Campbell community with quality homes.
In January, the U.S. Army approved terms negotiated by Lendlease for a $1.1 billion capital investment plan. Fort Campbell is one of six installations receiving considerable housing investments under this plan. The hope is to construct nearly 500 new homes and renovate hundreds of homes in older neighborhoods through this funding.
The ground breaking is set to take place March 4 at 9:30 a.m. and the ceremony will be able to be viewed via livestream on the Fort Campbell Facebook page.
