A Flood Watch is in effect for all of Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee from 6 p.m Saturday through midnight Monday morning.
Rick Shanklin with the National Weather Service in Paducah says residents of Western Kentucky can expect up to three inches of rain.
He says heavy rain with isolated higher totals will be most likely Saturday night, when thunderstorms will also be possible.
If flash flooding does develop, it will be most likely in all of the low-lying and poor drainage areas that typically see high water in heavy rain.
Motorists encountering standing water are reminded—turn around, don’t drown.
Severe weather is not expected to be a threat at this time.
