Christian County Public School System Superintendent Chris Bentzel says the district is committed to finding a way to have in-person proms and graduations for seniors at both high schools this year.
Appearing Thursday morning on WHOP, Bentzel said more details will be coming out soon, but the plan is to host safe proms and commencement ceremonies during the pandemic.
Teachers and staff were given the option over the last couple of months to take the COVID-19 vaccine and while most who wanted it have completed both doses, Bentzel says there are about 100 still going through the process for various reasons.
All Christian County schools have returned to full in-person learning and Bentzel says they have been successful because of the perseverance and resilience of teachers, staff, students and their families.
Families who are concerned about their students returning to a school building have been able to remain in the Virtual Learning Academy.
Bentzel says preparations are ongoing for ACT testing and government mandated assessments at the end of the year.
