The groundbreaking for the new industrial speculative building in Hopkinsville is fast approaching and EDC Executive Director Carter Hendricks believes it will play an integral role in attracting a new industry to the region.
The 100,800 square foot spec building is being constructed at the Hopkinsville Industrial Foundation’s pad ready site on Frank Yost Lane in Commerce Park and Hendricks says having a ready-built structure is an important tool in industrial recruitment.
Hopkinsville City Council and Christian Fiscal Court are paying the interest payments on construction of the building and Hendricks says the Industrial Foundation will pay that money back after the spec building is sold.
The groundbreaking is set for Wednesday, March 3 at 11:30 on Frank Yost Lane.
This is the 12th spec building in Christian County in the last 30 years and Hendricks says the community has been successful in attracting new industry with them in the past.
