The Chicago Cubs are adding another late-inning option to their bullpen by agreeing to a one-year, one-million-dollar contract with Brandon Workman. The right hander struggled last year, going 1-and-4 with a 5.95 ERA and nine saves in 21 appearances for Boston and Philadelphia.
The San Diego Padres are locking up superstar shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. for the future. According to multiple reports, Tatis Jr. is expected to receive a 14-year deal worth around 340-million dollars. Tatis Jr. has exploded on the scene in baseball with 39 home runs in his first two seasons. He also helped return San Diego to the playoffs in 2020.
Tim Tebow is calling it a career on the diamond. The former Heisman Trophy winner and NFL quarterback announced his retirement from the New York Mets organization. Tebow joined the Mets in 2016 and reached as high as Triple-A during his time with the club. In 2019, Tebow hit .163 with four home runs. The 33-year-old had been invited to spring training by the Mets in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
