Another two to three inches of snow fell across the region yesterday and overnight and roads are again blanketed in white.
A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 p.m., though a vast majority of snowfall has moved out to the north and east and only very light snow or flurries is left behind.
Christian, Todd, Trigg, Muhlenberg, Hopkins and Montgomery County Schools are closed Thursday, as are Heritage Christian Academy, UHA, Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School, Fort Campbell schools and Dawson Springs Independent Schools. HCC, Murray State and Madisonville Community College are also closed to in-person instruction.
Christian County Sheriff’s Sgt. Adam Vanderkolk says roads are covered in snow and stay at home if you can until crews have a chance to make some good headway toward clearing them this morning.
A dispatcher in Todd County reported several vehicles running off the road overnight in the snow, with no injures in any of those incidents.
State, county and city road crews were gearing up early this morning to begin treating roads and will begin with the most heavily-traveled highways and streets first.
