More details have been released on a weather-related accident from Tuesday on I-24 that injured three people.
As previously reported, a pickup rear-ended a tractor-trailer that was stopped with traffic near the 71 mile-marker on the eastbound side and the pickup that was also towing a trailer was hit in the rear by another eastbound semi.
All three occupants of the pickup—51-year old Cory Weibe, 51-year old Andrea Weibe and 50-year old Claude Carter of Osteen, Florida—had to be extricated from their vehicle.
Andrea Weibe was flown by helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for serious injuries and the other two occupants were transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center.
