CCSO: Stay home if you can, slow down if you must get out

Road conditions continue to be treacherous in the region and they aren’t likely to improve a lot anytime soon with temperatures in the single digits and teens.

Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Miller reported numerous accidents on I-24 throughout the morning.

The best advice is to stay at home, but Miller says slow down considerably and use extra caution if you must get out.

Deputy Miller says secondary routes are also covered in ice, sleet and snow.

Todd County Sheriff Tracy White said roads there also remained treacherous and there were similar reports in Trigg County.

State, county and city road crews have been out plowing and treating roads, but their salt and brine solution is much less effective to melt snow and ice when temperatures are 15 degrees or colder.
