Once again, Christian County Public Schools are looking forward to getting students back in class, as winter weather has put them back into Non-Traditional Instruction.
Before the wintry conditions moved in however, Superintendent Chris Bentzel says things continue to run smoothly in-person—students and staff number of COVID-19 active cases in the district remain fairly low, and any new cases have been out of school.
With many staff and teachers receiving their second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, Bentzel says new guidance dictates they no longer have to quarantine if they are exposed to the virus.
The district has been making use of Non-Traditional Instruction days to keep from having to make up snow days at the end of the year, with Bentzel saying they owe it to their seniors to keep to the school calendar.
Bentzel says they’re keeping an eye on the weather and road conditions, and taking any closures on a day-by-day basis. The CCPS COVID-19 Data Dashboard can be viewed on their Facebook page or the district’s website.
