KSP conducting death investigation in Guthrie

Kentucky State Police are investigating the death of a Crofton woman in Guthrie, with initial investigation showing the cause of death was hypothermia.

According to a news release, KSP was contacted by the Guthrie Police Department to assist in the investigation when the body of the female victim, identified as 25-year old Melissa Sheerin of Crofton, was located inside a mobile home that had no electricity or heat.  An unresponsive male victim was also found in the home and taken to a local hospital for treatment of hypothermia symptoms.

Preliminary results reportedly determined the cause of Sheerin’s death as hypothermia. The investigation continues, but no foul play is suspected. The Todd County Coroner’s Office assisted in the investigation.
