Western Kentucky played its most efficient game of the season Saturday, lighting it up offensively in an 89-66 win over Rice at E.A. Diddle Arena. Charles Bassey led WKU with 21 points on 9-of-10 shooting, while senior guard Taveion Hollingsworth added 16 points and seven assists. WKU won its sixth straight game in improving to 15-4 overall and 8-2 in Conference USA.
In the women’s game, the Lady Toppers fell at Rice 77-74. The Lady Toppers will host North Texas next Friday night while the Hilltoppers will play at North Texas also on Friday night.
