Hopkinsville Mayor says city preparing for more winter weather

The City of Hopkinsville was able to avoid heavier amounts of ice from the recent winter weather, and Mayor Wendell Lynch says they’re prepared for the next round.

There’s a chance for a possibly significant snow event Monday and Monday night, and Mayor Lynch says city road crews responded quickly to the ice and they’re ready to do so again if needed.

Trash pickup in the city limits is running a day behind schedule, with trucks back out on routes Friday and Saturday.

Mayor Lynch says city council meetings are set to resume in-person for Tuesday’s upcoming meeting, but they will adjust accordingly depending on weather.

If they do have the meeting in-person, the public is invited to attend—COVID-19 protocols will be in place with social distancing measures, hand sanitizer provided and face masks must be worn.
