Bond modification being considered for stabbing suspect

A bond modification request is being taken under advisement for Jamie Granados, the woman accused of stabbing her then-boyfriend twice in December.

Granados is currently lodged in the Christian County Jail on a first-degree assault charge, but public defender Doug Moore requested that her bond be reduced, as she is not a flight-risk and is unlikely to reoffend.

Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Stephanie Bolen argued that the charge is quite serious, as the victim was taken to the hospital with wounds to the neck and thigh—Moore says a medical report shows the injuries were not serious and the victim was treated and released the same day.

The victim reportedly no longer lives in Hopkinsville.  Christian Circuit Judge John Atkins says he will take the bond request under advisement, with the intent to make a ruling in the next few days.

The stabbing incident occurred at a residence on North Kentucky Avenue in December and Granados is currently held on a $25,000 bond.
