Trial scheduled for Hopkinsville City Council member charged with forgery

A trial date was set Wednesday morning for Hopkinsville City Councilmember Kimberly McCarley.

McCarley will stand trial May 24 for the second-degree forgery charge.

A grand jury indictment alleges that on June 22, 2016, McCarley forged the name of a woman on a bank document without that woman’s permission. The incident was investigated by Kentucky State Police.

McCarley represents Ward 2 and has served on Hopkinsville City Council since 2009.

She has pleaded not guilty in the case.
