A tech industry has chosen Clarksville to locate its manufacturing headquarters.
The Clarksville-Montgomery County Industrial Development Board announced Wednesday that American-owned and operated Microvast Power Solutions has chosen to locate its U.S. manufacturing headquarters in Clarksville, Tennessee.
Microvast has executed a purchase sale agreement on a site previously owned by Akebono for their new operation and plans to transition the facility from brake manufacturing to a Lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility.
The new facility will include a research and development department and manufacturing facility that produces separators for batteries, battery cells, modules, and packs.
The company plans to add 287 jobs in production, maintenance, office, and management at their facility in Clarksville, bringing an investment of $220 million.
