Woman flown to Skyline Medical Center after Russellville crash, alcohol listed as factor

Alcohol is suspected as a factor in a single-vehicle accident Saturday afternoon in Russellville that sent the driver to a Nashville hospital.

Russellville police say Melissa Chandler of Franklin had been headed north on the US 68 Bypass just before 3 p.m. when her car struck a guard rail.

Chandler over-corrected and struck the guard rail a second time.

She was transported to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for injuries and was cited into court for DUI, reckless driving, possession of an open alcohol container and other charges.
