Runaway teen crashes trying to evade deputies

A runaway teenager from Henderson County is facing charges in Christian County after he allegedly attempted to get away from local deputies Monday morning.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office was notified that the 17-year old male was supposed to be in his mother’s vehicle, which was located in a driveway in the 500 block of Wade Road, according to Deputy Chris Miller.

As deputies approached, the teen took off and almost immediately wrecked into a tree line in the 700 block of Wade Road.

He was treated at the scene by EMS for minor injuries and is being charged with fleeing or evading police and driving without a license.
