Kentucky sees declining COVID cases again, Trigg now orange on incidence rate map

For the first time since the pandemic began, Kentucky has gone four straight weeks with declining COVID-19 case numbers.

Governor Andy Beshear on Sunday announced 1,532 new cases and 31 more deaths. The positivity rate fell to 7.97 percent, 1,235 Kentuckians are in the hospital with the virus, 290 are in the ICU and 140 are on a ventilator.

Kentucky’s death toll now stands at 4,051.

Trigg County joined Todd as orange on the state incidence rate map, while Christian and the other bordering counties remain red.

The Tennessee Department of Health reported 2,387 cases and six deaths Sunday. Hospitalizations dropped again to 1,314 and 10,469 Tennesseans have died from the coronavirus.
