Governor announces 1,998 new COVID cases, 49 deaths

Governor Andy Beshear reported 1,998 new cases of COVID-19 Saturday in Kentucky, in addition to 49 more deaths.

The state’s positivity rate fell again to 8.07 percent, 1,294 Kentuckians are in the hospital with the virus, 318 are in the ICU and 164 are on a ventilator.

Kentucky’s death toll surpassed 4,000 and now stands at 4,020.

Tennessee announced 3,182 new coronavirus cases and 58 additional deaths. Hospitalizations fell in the Volunteer State to 1,369 and the positivity rate was 9.16 percent.
