There are conflicting reports on the status of free-agent pitcher Trevor Bauer. USA Today reported the reigning NL Cy Young winner had agreed to a contract with the New York Mets, but MLB.com reported soon after that no agreement has been reached. The LA Dodgers are also in the mix.
Dexter Fowler is reuniting with manager Joe Maddon. The Los Angeles Angels are acquiring the outfielder from the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cards are also expected to send cash to the Angels in the trade. In exchange, the Halos are sending St. Louis either a player to be named later or cash. Fowler is a career .259 hitter. The outfielder played under Maddon when the two helped lead the Chicago Cubs to a World Series title in 2016.
