Todd County schools will resume full in-person instruction March 1

The Todd County School System will return to full-time in-person instruction on March 1 as all faculty and staff who want to be vaccinated will receive their second dose by the end of next week.

District Superintendent Mark Thomas told the school board Thursday night that appointments have been made with the Todd County Health Department for the second doses.

Two weeks will have passed since the second dose by Monday, March 1 and Thomas says that’s when schools will resume five-days-a-week instruction inside the school buildings.

All students and staff will be required to continue to wear masks, social distance when possible and follow all other Healthy at School Protocols.

In the meantime, elementary school students will continue going to their building Monday through Thursday and will be virtual on Friday. Middle and high schoolers will stick with their hybrid model of two days in buildings and three using virtual instruction.

About half of those students attend in person on Monday and Tuesday and the other half on Wednesday and Thursday, depending on where they live in the county.

Todd County Schools will accept enrollment change requests, changing students from in-person to virtual or virtual to in-person, February 22-26. A change request form will be available on the Todd County School District Facebook page and district website.
