Light snow event closes Todd, Hopkins, Logan, Muhlenberg County schools Monday, Feb. 1

A dusting of snow has caused several area school systems to close Monday and motorists are advised to use extra caution on their morning commute.

Todd, Hopkins, Logan and Muhlenberg County Schools are closed, with officials in all of those districts saying it will be a non-traditional instruction day.

Todd County Sheriff’s Sgt. Patrick Turner reported extremely slick road conditions, especially on secondary roads. He urges motorists in Todd County to avoid unnecessary travel until road conditions improve.

Christian County ECC had received no reports of slick roads or weather-related accidents as of about 5 a.m., but travelers are advised to slow down as there are likely slick spots in the usual places such as bridges and overpasses.

You’re likely to find higher snowfall amounts and more hazardous travel conditions the farther east you go this morning.
