The St. Louis Cardinals are bringing back veteran pitcher Adam Wainwright. The club and the three-time All-Star have reportedly agreed to a one-year contract worth eight-million-dollars. The right-hander has a career 3.38 ERA in 15 seasons.

The Chicago Cubs are adding Kohl Stewart to add depth to their pitching staff. The club announced they agreed to terms with the right-hander on a one-year deal worth 700-thousand-dollars. Stewart last pitched in the major in 2019 with the Twins, going 2-and-2 with a 6.39 ERA. He opted out of last season due to COVID-19 concerns.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is willing to help the team with his huge salary cap hit. “Big Ben” tells The Athletic that he will do “everything” he can to help the team despite his 41.2-million-dollar cap hit for the 2021 season. He added that he is pretty sure he wants to go one more year and thinks he can give the team a real chance at winning. Owner Art Rooney said Thursday that he has made it clear to Roethlisberger they want him back, but it can’t be at the current price tag.

Patrick Reed and Alex Noren at eight under 64 take a one shot lead over Scottie Sheffler into today’s second round of the Farmers Insurance Open. Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker is tied for 32nd at three under par while Campbellsville native jB Holmes is at three over par.
