CCSO charges man with second-degree burglary

The Christian County Sheriff’s Department arrested a man Thursday after he allegedly broke into Living Hope Baptist Church.

According to the arrest report, deputies responded to reports of a burglary in progress at the church on the Eagle Way Bypass around 1:40 p.m. Thursday.  Upon arrival, they discovered 33-year old Shawn Gilkey exiting out of a door way.  Investigation determined he had made entry to the building through a basement door.

When deputies asked for his name, Gilkey allegedly gave them his brother’s name and birthdate instead of his own.

Gilkey was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary and giving officers false identify information.
