The NBA and the National Basketball Players Association are having discussions about still holding an All-Star Game in March. ESPN reports the two sides are talking about holding an All-Star Game in Atlanta on March 7th. NBA All-Star Weekend was originally scheduled for February in Indianapolis but was canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The league is scheduled to have a mid-season break from March 5th through 10th.
One year after tragedy struck, the Los Angeles Lakers reportedly have no plans for a formal tribute today to honor Kobe Bryant. While some teams and individual athletes are marking the somber occasion, ESPN is reporting that the Lakers chose to sit this one out due to the emotional trauma that re-living the events could cause.
Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, and seven others were killed on January 26th last year when their helicopter went down in Calabasas, California.
