Crofton man arrested for meth trafficking in Madisonville

A Crofton man was arrested Thursday afternoon in Madisonville on methamphetamine trafficking charges.

Madisonville police stopped 37-year old William Cook of Empire Road for a moving violation on East Center Street and a news release says drug paraphernalia was in plain view in his SUV.

A K9 alerted on the vehicle and a search allegedly revealed 4.6 pounds of meth with a street value of over $200,000, a 9mm handgun and other drug paraphernalia.

Cook was arrested and charged with meth trafficking, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and other charges.
