Todd Fiscal Court hears update on vaccine, to pursue grant for senior center renovations

The Todd County Health Department remains ready to administer first doses of COVID-19 vaccine, but the supply simply isn’t there.

Emergency Management Director Daniel Smith told Fiscal Court Friday morning that every vaccine in Todd County has someone’s name on it to be administered as a booster shot.

Meanwhile, Todd Fiscal Court approved using a combination of pre-existing grant money and CARES Act funds to purchase a new ambulance at about $137,000.

Todd County will call upon an architect to look over the senior center and determine what renovations are needed—with roof repair or replacement likely to be a the top of the list—and PADD Associate Director Amy Frogue says grant funds could be available at a local match of only 15 percent.

Magistrates approved $18,000 for upgrades to Cliff Hill Road and $5,400 to lay gravel for a new road and parking at Clifty School Park.

Fiscal Court entered closed session for about 15 minutes to discuss proposed or pending litigation, but did not take action.
