KTVI Fox 2-St. Louis has added details to a Thursday report from the St. Louis Post Dispatch that long-time St. Louis Cardinals broadcaster Mike Shannon will retire following the 2021 season. Shannon-who has not traveled in the past several years-will also call some road games this season as part of a farewell tour. This will be Shannon’s 50th year as a Cardinal broadcaster as he began with Jack Buck in 1972 after an illness cut short his playing career. Shannon joined the Cardinals as a player in 1962 and played on the 1964 and 1967 World Series champion teams.
