The Hopkinsville YMCA is gearing up for their Polar Plunge fundraising challenge, and teams and individuals can still sign-up to take part.
Joe Wilson with the YMCA appeared on WHOP recently and says this event will help generate the funds they need to keep their many community programs up and running, along with scholarships they offer.
He says the plunge itself will take place February 6—but people can register until January 31, but if they want a shirt they’ll need to sign up by this Saturday.
Wilson says it’s all for a good cause, as the local YMCA is providing more food than ever to children in the community.
On February 6, the day will kick off at 8:30 a.m. with some raffling, snacks and hot drinks, followed by a warm up workout, then opening remarks with the polar plunge itself set to take place at 10 a.m. Kona Ice and Dairy Queen will be on site to provide some frozen treats.
