Those on CCHD waiting list for COVID-19 vaccine can expect to be contacted soon

The Christian County Health Department continues to distribute COVID-19 vaccinations as quickly as possible, and those who signed up on the first round of a waiting list can expect to be contacted soon.

Amanda Brunt with the health department says they’re starting to work their way down a list of around 2,000 people over the age of 70 years old to receive the vaccine, and those people should be contacted either by phone call or text.  From there, they will be able to make an actual appointment to receive the shot.

She says they have had some individuals outside of the phase groups try and get on the list, but if they’re not in the phase the health department reserves the right to remove those names from the list.  Brunt says there’s been no reports of serious side effects due to the Moderna vaccine—most people only report some arm pain—and she urges those who do get the shot to keep up those health guidelines until more people get it as well.

Selina Staub with Jennie Stuart Health says the hospital was recently at its highest point ever for in house COVID-19 positive patients, but that has now decreased down to 30 patients.

The health department as administered roughly 800 vaccines so far this week, with around 600 more set to be given out on Thursday.  No walk-ins are being accepted at this time.
