Bentzel hopes CCPS can return to in-person learning next week

The Christian County School System will be monitoring the COVID numbers closely this week in hopes of returning to in-person learning after the Martin Luther King Day holiday next week.

Superintendent Chris Bentzel appeared on WHOP Monday and says the large escalation of COVID cases last week and record numbers of staff in quarantine prevented the scheduled return to school buildings Monday.

The district will look at the numbers on Friday and make a decision for next week.

Bentzel is urging students to wear their masks and to avoid social gatherings to help Christian County get where it needs to be to resume in-person learning and winter sports.

Schools across Kentucky will be closed Monday for the MLK holiday.
