In a surprise announcement today, LPGA Commissioner Mike Whan announced his resignation following 11 years on the job. He shared the news with the LPGA staff saying he would never leave the LPGA if the future was uncertain or if momentum wasn’t trending in the right direction. According to Golfweek, no departure date has been announced.
The 2021 portion of the PGA Tour schedule begins tomorrow with the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii. The field which is made up of the winners of PGA Tour events last year, includes Louisville area native Justin Thomas in the field.
