Tennessee woman charged in multi-county pursuit

Kentucky State Police have arrested and charged a Tennessee woman in connection to a multi-county pursuit that occurred Saturday.

According to a news release, state troopers and deputies with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Draffenville area in an attempt to locate a vehicle that had been involved in several hit and run collisions.  The vehicle was seen heading west on Highway 68 and a traffic stop was initiated—the driver, later identified as 32-year old Heaven Tynes of Union City, and allegedly fled.  The vehicle continued to flee on US 68 until Marshall County Sheriff’s deputies performed a pit maneuver on the vehicle, successfully stopping the vehicle.

Following a brief altercation, Tynes was apprehended and determined she was under the influence of controlled substances. She was transported to Mercy Health-Lourdes Hospital in Paducah for treatment. Due to the level of impairment, Tynes was admitted to the hospital for further treatment.

She is charged with fleeing or evading police, possession of heroin, illegal possession of a legend drug, DUI, criminal mischief and multiple traffic violations.
