There will be many things on the agenda for what is shaping up to be a busy session of the Kentucky General Assembly, with Representative Myron Dossett saying one of his top priorities will be addressing unemployment.
Representative Dossett says it’s at the top of his list, to get the issue with unemployment claims still going unresolved even months later, some dating back to March, and he says it is unacceptable.
He says they’ll be looking at getting issues addressed as soon as possible, to help take care of those who are seriously depending on this system.
Representative Dossett has also pre-filed a bill that he’s hopeful will see some traction this session that would eliminate the current requirement that service workers who respond to emergencies pay the income tax of the state if they’re there for 30 days on pay checks.
The short session begins on January 5 and will likely include many heavy hitter topics, such as a budget, COVID-19 regulations and relief funding, a measure possibly increasing the gasoline tax and more.
