Princeton man claims $2 million winning lottery ticket, plans to retire

A Princeton man has claimed the $2 million Kentucky lottery jackpot he won with a winning Powerball ticket, and says he plans to fully retire.

According to a news release, the man wishes to remain anonymous, says he got a text Sunday morning telling him to check his lottery ticket and when he did, he saw he was a winner.  He says after discovering he had won $2 million, he “felt like he was having a heart attack”.

The winning ticket matched the first five ball numbers but not the Powerball to win the game’s second prize.  This prize usually pays $1 million, however, the winner chose to spend an additional $1 for the Power Play feature, doubling his prize.  He says he’s been playing the same numbers for years and after taxes, he received a check for $1.4 million.

The man had retired but went back to work three years ago, but now with his winnings, has retired for good and says he looks forward to being able to spend more time with family.
