Todd County Fiscal Court heard an update on how Todd County Dispatch is recovering following the Nashville bombing that shut down many emergency services communications in the region.
For the most part dispatch in Todd County is recovered, according to Emergency Management Director Daniel Smith, though occasionally they still experiencing some service issues. Service attendants continue to work on the lines to make sure everything is sound. Smith says they were luckier than most, such as Christian County, due to Todd County having two different providers for both 911 and administrative lines.
He says the situation did highlight the problem with being dependent on one system, and he’ll be looking to possibly change how the 911 system in Todd County operates heading into next year.
Magistrates had been set to approve a budget amendment, but Treasure Tammy Robertson says they’ll look over it at a meeting in January instead.
In other action, magistrates approved budgets for the sheriff’s department and county clerk’s offices on second-reading.
