The mother and son charged in connection with the October 13 shooting death of Calvin “Cue” Taylor were arraigned virtually in the Christian Circuit Courtroom of Judge Andrew Self Wednesday.
Larayna Manning is charged with murder and first-degree robbery in the case, with a recent indictment identifying her as the shooter of the bullet that killed Taylor at his North Kentucky Avenue home in October. She asked the judge if there was any way she could get a reduction in bond to possibly be released so she could help her mother care for other family members.
Judge Self said he did not foresee himself reducing or modifying her bond any time soon, just based off the severity of her charges.
Pretrial hearings were set for both Larayna and Anthony Manning for January 27, with Judge Self informing Anthony that he would be represented by someone from the Murray Department of Public Advocacy.
Anthony Manning faces charges of complicity to murder and robbery in relation to the case, having allegedly drove his mother to Taylor’s home. He reportedly told police he went inside to check on his mother when he heard gunshots.
rugs, cash and a safe were missing from Taylor’s home when police began the investigation and police say Taylor’s mouth and wrists were duct-taped, indicating there had been a robbery.
