Two teens injured, one seriously, in Trigg crash

Kentucky State Police have released details on a single-vehicle accident Friday night on US 68 in Trigg County that injured two teens.

A sixteen-year-old male driver was westbound on US 68 just east of I-24 about 6:15 p.m. when his Nissan Xterra traveled off the right shoulder and struck a guard rail.

The driver over-corrected into the median and over-corrected again, causing the vehicle to overturn multiple times before coming to rest in the roadway on its roof.

An 18-year old passenger was ejected during the crash and was flown by Air Evac to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for treatment of serious injuries.

The 16-year old driver was taken by EMS to Trigg County Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries and released. He was charged by KSP with aggravated DUI, second-degree assault and driving without a license. He was released into the custody of his parents.

The Trigg County Sheriff’s Office and Rescue Squad assisted at the scene.
