Jolly Old Saint Nick was riding a fire truck instead of a sleigh as he made his way through most Hopkinsville neighborhoods Sunday afternoon.
Santa was followed by Hopkinsville police officers who distributed goodies to children who waved back at the visitor from the North Pole.
Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation Superintendent Tab Brockman says it took a big effort to get the big guy to Hopkinsville on the Sunday before Christmas and every agency he called to help make it happen were eager to assist.
As only he could, Santa departed three fire department stations at about 1 o’clock and made the rounds through a vast majority of most neighborhoods.
Don’t worry, though, he’ll be back again with Rudolph and his sleigh sometime Christmas Eve night.
