The Hopkinsville Police Department and its partners are ready to deliver gifts to children in need Christmas Day as the Christmas Morning Miracle program forges ahead during the pandemic.
HPD Records Clerk Patti Jaynes is the Christmas Morning Miracle coordinator and says the initiative wouldn’t be possible without the partnership with Huhtamaki, U.S. Tobacco and Pioneers, Inc.
She says weeks of planning will culminate early Christmas day with officers delivering presents to children identified by police and schools as being in need of a little help this year.
Most of the toys are purchased with cash donated by all of the partners, but Jaynes says some of the toys are donated directly by individuals and stores.
The program is also a way for children to see officers in a positive light instead of during some type of police response.
