Wreaths Across America is making its way to Hopkinsville, and although there won’t be a ceremony at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West this year, they are still inviting families to come lay a wreath in honor of their loved ones.
Director Richard Stanley says they had to cancel the usual ceremony due to COVID-19 restrictions, but families can come to the cemetery Saturday between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. to lay those wreaths for their family members. They are asking that people not group up and maintain social distancing when possible while participating.
Hundreds of people have made the trip in years past to lay wreaths on the graves of veterans who are laid to rest there, as part of a program that takes place across the country through Wreaths Across America.
