Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky is acknowledging Joe Biden as the President-elect of the U.S.
McConnell spoke on the Senate floor and also congratulated Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.
He said the Electoral College has spoken this week when it certified Biden’s win with 306 electoral votes to President Trump’s 232.
Senator McConnell heaped praise on President Trump for his four years in the White House.
McConnell and other Senate Republican leaders had refused to acknowledge Biden’s win for weeks after the presidential election.
