National and American League MVP’s Jose Abreu and Freddie Freeman are taking home some more hardware. Abreu has won the American League Hank Aaron Award, while Freeman took home the honor in the National League. The award is given to the best offensive player in each league.
The Kansas City Royals are adding a big bat to their lineup signing first baseman/DH Carlos Santana to a two-year contract. Financial terms were not released, but multiple reports say the deal is worth 17.5-million-dollars. The 34-year-old has spent 10 of his 11 big league seasons in Cleveland, including the last two years. Santana hit just .199 with eight homers and 30 RBI in 60 games with the Indians last season.
